Purpose/Description
The Human Resources Specialist - Engagement supports the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that enhance the employee experience across the County and across the employee life cycle.
This role is responsible for delivering hands‑on support for onboarding, performance management, and training initiatives, ensuring consistent, equitable, and engaging experience for all employees. Working as part of the Employee Engagement Division, the Human Resource Specialist partners with departments to improve communication, drive participation in County programs, and sustain a culture of learning and accountability.
Major Duties- Facilitate new hire onboarding and assist departments with onboarding coordination.
- Support the performance evaluation cycle by tracking completion status and assisting employees or managers as needed.
- Monitor training schedules and coordinate live sessions, e-learning modules, and required compliance courses.
- Help manage content in the county's learning management system (Oracle LMS).
- Prepare reports and dashboards on employee engagement activities.
- Provide administrative support for surveys, engagement campaigns, and recognition programs.
- Conduct training as needed
- Perform other tasks as needed
- Educational Requirements
- Associate's degree in general studies, or any business‑related major (e.g., Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, etc.).
- Experience Requirements
- Two (2) years of full‑time experience in a fast‑paced Human Resources environment, which must include providing on‑the‑job training or evaluating employees; experience using Learning Management Systems (equivalent part‑time experience will be accepted)
