Human Resources Coordinator
We are seeking a detail?oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support attendance and leave administration within a unionized manufacturing environment
. This role serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the National Attendance Program (NAP) and is responsible for ensuring compliance with labor agreements, company policy, and applicable regulations.
Location: Wayne, MI (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Full?time, 40 hours/week
- Must be available to work day, night, and weekend shifts
Compensation: $30 per hour
Position OverviewThis position plays a critical role in managing attendance?related programs, partnering closely with operations leadership, union representatives, medical teams, and labor relations. The ideal candidate brings strong HR systems knowledge, confidence in contract interpretation, and the ability to navigate complex employee situations with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as SPOC for National Attendance Program (NAP), including FMLA, Medical Leave of Absence (MLOA), and tardiness
- Interpret and apply attendance and disciplinary contract language
- Investigate employee attendance records using HRIS and timekeeping systems
- Audit and correct attendance and leave codes (personal days, bereavement, jury duty, military leave, FMLA, medical leave, etc.)
- Create and distribute daily status and progress reports to operations and union stakeholders
- Conduct meetings and administer corrective action in accordance with attendance policy
- Maintain required documentation related to FMLA and leave administration
- Lead the 10?day quit process
- Act as a subject matter expert for management on attendance policy interpretation
- Partner with operations, union counterparts, medical, and labor relations teams
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve attendance processes
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1+ year of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Experience with FMLA, Leave of Absence (LOA), and attendance administration
- Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong conflict management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion
