This position is for candidates living in the Metro Detroit Area.
POSITION SUMMARYThe VP, Website Hosting and Website Management (WHWM) is responsible for successfully meeting all expectations of over 300 financial institutions that develop and host their websites through CUSG. Moreover, the position assists in management and future planning for several other hosting platforms that run enterprise SaaS solutions developed and operated by CUSG. For the systems outlined above, each has a unique/complex technology stack, utilizes numerous third-party plug-ins and tools, has a distinctive and sophisticated architecture, and has high expectations related to the successful execution of several in-house and third-party managed hosting services that are focused on security, uptime, speed, and disaster recovery (which are among many other services).
This position is also responsible for all upgrades related to hardware, software, in-house tools/solutions, and third-party tools/solutions, as well as long term planning of hosting platforms, and will make recommendations to the CTO, COO, and CEO on a regular basis. The VP of WHWM is a collaborative leader that is passionate about the future of website development and hosting and is enthusiastic about being responsible for the development, delivery, and hosting of secure websites for large financial institutions that rely on CUSG to help them maintain the reputation of their brands.
DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of web hosting servers, databases, and related technologies.
- Ensure the availability and performance of web applications, websites, and services.
- Strong understanding of public cloud services, including AWS and Azure.
- Implement and maintain security protocols and measures to protect web hosting infrastructure against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches.
- Work with the CTO and a team of web hosting technicians and application developers.
- Assign tasks, set goals and timelines, and conduct regular reviews of hosting activities and objectives.
- Work with the CTO and Technology Team Members to plan for hosting consolidation, including vendor due diligence, source planning, and transitional plans as needed to accommodate existing and future web hosting requirements.
- Monitor server resources and plan for capacity upgrades as needed to accommodate growing web hosting requirements.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure effective hosting solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
- Analyze and optimize server performance, including load balancing, caching, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to web hosting infrastructure.
- Provide on-call support for critical incidents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of server configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure web hosting infrastructure complies with industry standards, regulations, and data protection laws.
- Develop and manage the web hosting budget, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Keep the team updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Provide training opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.
