About

the Technical Delivery Lead

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in executing a large-scale cloud modernization initiative supporting mission-critical internal applications. These systems are essential to operational resiliency, including applications used for grid operations and storm response.

This is a delivery-focused, senior-level engineering role. You will work closely with the Senior Cloud Architect and broader platform team to migrate applications, implement infrastructure-as-code, automate deployments and testing, and improve system resiliency.

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering
  • Project experience working in Azure (AWS and/or GCP experience also valuable)
  • Experience supporting or executing production application migrations to the cloud
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
  • Understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and access management
  • Experience implementing high-availability and resiliency patterns in cloud environments
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling
  • Experience working in environments requiring performance and reliability under heavy load
  • Ability to independently diagnose and solve technical issues
  • Comfortable working in a small, senior-level team with high ownership and accountability
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams
Responsibilities
  • Implement cloud infrastructure and platform components in Azure to support application migrations and modernization
  • Execute migration plans for applications moving from on-premises data centers and legacy environments into a next-generation cloud environment
  • Build and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
  • Improve application resiliency, scalability, and availability in cloud-hosted environments
  • Support the design and implementation of disaster recovery and high-availability patterns
  • Automate operational processes to eliminate manual, console-driven activities
  • Partner with QA and Dev Ops to ensure automated functional and performance testing is integrated into delivery pipelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and deployment issues
  • Collaborate closely with architects, developers, SREs, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical and operational requirements
  • Contribute to documentation, environment standards, automation scripts, and operational handoff materials
  • Help leave applications in a fully automated, sustainable state before transitioning ownership back to internal teams
