Sr. Business Intelligence Developer | Service Line Strategy Operation Analytics

Overview

Under the direction of a Manager, Director or Lead/Experienced developer, implements a program to extract data using a computer programming language, analyze it, and report information to customers in a user-friendly and actionable way. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer generates reports, develops tools, and provides consultative support as needed. Customers include physicians, physician groups, hospital leadership, Board of Trustees, system leadership, transformation consulting, clinical/non-clinical services, Markets, Community, Service Lines, Revenue Cycle, Finance, external oversight/regulatory bodies, and other users needing information.

The role enhances the data-driven culture, collaborates to gather data, develops automated tools, and provides actionable interpretation of information to all customers. The candidate presents information to diverse audiences, develops data assets and ad-hoc reports, and implements new or improved reporting processes to support strategic goals, clinical efforts, and business initiatives. The role requires the ability to work with minimal direction, manage deadlines, and maintain timeliness and high-quality deliverables, while anticipating evolving customer needs.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex and ambiguous requests are essential.

• Independently develop comprehensive data assets and ad-hoc reports.
• Implement new or improved reporting processes to support strategic goals and business initiatives.
• Gather data across cross-functional collaboration and generate reports and automated tools.
• Provide consultative support and actionable interpretation of information to customers at all levels, including executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external oversight bodies.
• Present information clearly to diverse audiences and ensure data quality and timely delivery.

• Bachelor's Degree with a Healthcare, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, OR an Applied Science major.
• Three to four (3-4) years of experience in a Healthcare OR Business setting.
• Expert in advanced Excel, SQL, report building, tool development, requirements gathering and technical documentation.
• Experience with Relational Databases, Data Models, Data Visualizations, curated datasets, data cubes OR experience in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) report development and EMR functionality (Epic, Cerner, McKesson or other).
• Maintain code repositories on SCM systems, familiar with merging, pushing, pulling, branching, staging and code commenting OR MS TFS.
• Good understanding of fundamental computer programming concepts OR Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Basic understanding of Statistical and Machine Learning concepts; basic understanding of dimensional models and Data Warehouses OR EMR systems.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Cognos, Looker, Power BI, Qlik, SSRS or others.
• Develop multidimensional semantic layer and analytics query objects for end-users.
• Proven customer service experience with strong active listening skills.
• Able to present complex information to diverse audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
