Work Schedule:
Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. We are seeking a results-oriented Manager who brings hands on experience in data governance and management to support the execution and continuous improvement of Ally’s data governance and management policies, enablement services, and compliance measurement within a function or business line. This pivotal role will manage the day-to-day business-line data governance and management efforts, while collaborating closely with the Enterprise Data Governance & Management (EDGM) team, and business and technology leaders across the organization to ensure data quality, integrity, compliance, and accessibility.

The Work Itself Enablement Services:
Lead the implementation and operationalization of data quality rules and tests across data pipelines
Translate complex business requirements into measurable data quality rules and maintain a prioritized backlog of data quality engineering tasks
Provide data tooling and data pipelines support, embedding data quality checks, determining data quality rule thresholds, tracking lineage
Create and maintain data quality scorecards and dashboards to communicate data health, trends and business impact to senior stakeholders and product owners
Lead identification, tracking, remediation and escalation of data quality events, run root cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes while reporting remediation status and business impact
Perform systematic data profiling, metadata analysis and lineage mapping to identify root causes of data defects and prioritize remediation actions with application owners
Partner with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Business Unit and IT teams to resolve inconsistencies between systems of record
Support the metadata team in developing and maintaining a business data glossary with clear, controlled definitions
