Overview

Gallagher is looking for an all around Application Developer who is strong with C#/.Net and Database skills. This person needs to be able to work very independently with little direction.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Main Responsibilities
    • Application Development
      • Primary responsibility is to write / develop code per user stories developed by our Business Analyst (BA) team.
      • Work with our BA’s and other developers on new application development in support of our integrated benefits underwriting and management platform.
      • Regularly meet with our BA’s to review new requirements, progress on existing work and testing in an Agile Development environment.
      • Conduct thorough Data Exploratory Analysis before starting to code in order to determine potential issues with existing data not identified in the specs.
    • Application Support
      • Work on existing applications within our benefits administration platform regarding new enhancements, new capabilities and fixes on an as needed basis.
    • Systems Documentation
      • Update appropriate systems documentation to reflect changes in the original requirements documents and use cases, when there are changes to the original requirements documentations.
    • Database Design / Scripting
      • Work on designing and optimizing relational database schemas based on the defined requirements and understanding of the underlying data.
      • Create views and stored procedures necessary for use with new or existing applications and reports.
      • Analyze and refactor existing views or stored procedures as data or requirements change.
About You

Required:

  • Typical educational requirement is a University Degree and minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience, or equivalent experience.

    • Skills and experience to provide backup support in the following areas
      • Windows Server
    • Moderately complex database skills
      • Design and implement logical and physical data model

      • Database tuning and maintenance
      • Managing of transactional and data warehouse environments
      • Extraction Translation and Loading processes
    • 4+ years systems development
      • Requirements definition

Compensation and benefits
