Microsoft Office Security Lead

We are partnering with a global technology leader that supports some of the world’s most advanced and innovative industries. They are seeking a Lead IT Security Architect – Microsoft 365 Security to take ownership of the enterprise Microsoft 365 security environment and serve as the technical leader for collaboration, messaging, identity, and data protection security.

This is a highly visible role where you’ll act as the technical authority for Microsoft 365 security, partnering closely with Cybersecurity leadership while helping shape the future direction of the team. The position offers a unique blend of hands‑on engineering, security architecture, and leadership, with a clear path toward people management.

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 security across a large global enterprise
• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of security controls across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, and Intune
• Drive Microsoft 365 security strategy while remaining hands‑on with platform administration, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Develop and enhance security controls around identity, access management, email security, data protection, and endpoint security
• Configure and manage Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Privileged Access controls, and tenant security settings
• Lead initiatives involving Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, Sensitivity Labels, Rights Management, and data governance
• Partner closely with Cybersecurity teams to translate security policies into enforceable technical controls
• Improve phishing protection, threat detection, incident response processes, and security monitoring capabilities
• Evaluate emerging Microsoft security technologies and integrate them into the enterprise roadmap
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Microsoft 365 engineering resources while influencing stakeholders across Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Business teams

• 8+ years of experience supporting and securing Microsoft enterprise environments
• Deep hands‑on experience across the Microsoft 365 security ecosystem
• Strong expertise with:
• Exchange Online Security
• Conditional Access
• Microsoft Purview
• Rights Management / Information Protection
• Intune Endpoint Management
• Experience implementing Zero Trust security principles across identity, devices, applications, and data
• Strong understanding of email security, threat protection, phishing prevention, and security incident response
• Previous experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, or acting as a technical lead
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business functions

• Microsoft Security Certifications (SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-400)
• Experience with enterprise governance and compliance frameworks
• Experience supporting global environments and distributed teams
• Knowledge of hybrid identity and cloud security architectures
• Experience with M365 security in highly regulated industries
