Information Technology Student Intern

The Workforce Development and Education division manages a student internship program within Focus: HOPE. This program provides Information Technology graduates with the opportunity to put theory into practice with real-world experience, working with Focus: HOPE's Workforce Development and Education and Information Systems technical support department. The interns provide general IT support for Focus: HOPE colleagues.

Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software-related issues.
• Provide quality, efficient, and professional customer service and technical support.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software.
• Track and respond to help requests using the Focus: HOPE help desk ticketing system.
• Follow established procedures and processes for computer maintenance.
• Research and recommend solutions for technical problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the WDE Project Manager.

Perform duties under the supervision of the WDE Project Manager

Education, Training and

Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Must be a recent graduate of Focus: HOPE's Information Technologies Center
• Current A+ or other CompTIA certification is required
• Knowledge and experience in deployment and support of PC-based hardware
• Ability to manage deployment of desktop images and installation of software
• Ability to diagnose and resolve computer desktop problems
• Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage several projects, initiatives, and service requests
