The Technical Support Specialist serves as the primary technical resource for Nutra Food Ingredients, supporting Sales, Customers, Suppliers, and Internal Operations. This position provides technical product support, develops and maintains product documentation, evaluates new ingredients, supports product development projects, and assists customers in selecting the appropriate ingredients for their applications.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of food and nutraceutical ingredients, ingredient functionality, product applications, and technical documentation. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers.

The Technical Support Specialist serves as the primary technical resource for Nutra Food Ingredients, supporting Sales, Customers, Suppliers, and Internal Operations. This position provides technical product support, develops and maintains product documentation, evaluates new ingredients, supports product development projects, and assists customers in selecting the appropriate ingredients for their applications.

This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers.

• Provide technical support to the Sales team regarding product functionality, ingredient applications, and customer inquiries.
• Recommend ingredient solutions based on customer applications and technical requirements.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and technical presentations.
• Assist Sales in troubleshooting formulation and application challenges.
• Support new customer opportunities by providing technical recommendations and documentation.

• Create, review, and maintain Product Specifications, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Product Information Sheets, Regulatory Statements, Allergen Statements, Country of Origin Statements, Nutrition Information, and Customer Technical Questionnaires.
• Review supplier documentation and ensure accuracy before releasing customer documentation.
• Maintain product information databases and document control systems.

• Evaluate new ingredients and supplier samples.
• Coordinate internal sample evaluations and prepare technical reports.
• Support product development and application projects.
• Assist in identifying alternative ingredients and supplier solutions.
• Work with suppliers and customers on product improvements and new ingredient opportunities.

• Communicate directly with suppliers regarding technical information.
• Review supplier specifications and technical documentation.
• Support supplier qualification and new product introduction.
• Coordinate technical information requests between suppliers and customers.

• Serve as the technical liaison between Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Operations, and Suppliers.
• Support customer projects from technical evaluation through commercialization.
• Coordinate technical activities and communicate project status across departments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to products and technical documentation.

• Maintain current knowledge of food ingredients, nutraceutical ingredients, industry regulations, and market trends.
• Participate in supplier training, technical seminars, and continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
• 5+ years of experience in the food ingredient, nutraceutical ingredient, dietary supplement, or related industry.
• Experience supporting customers with technical product information and ingredient applications.
• Experience creating technical product documentation.
• Experience with product development, formulation support, or ingredient evaluation preferred.
• Strong understanding of FDA regulations, GMP, food safety, and ingredient compliance.
• Experience working with suppliers, customers, and sales teams preferred.

• Strong understanding of food and nutraceutical ingredients and their applications.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and regulatory documents.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
