Job DescriptionStudent Information Systems (SIS) Application Consultant
Non-union, at-will, Service Personnel position
POSITION SUMMARY
:
The primary responsibilities of the Student Information System Application Consultant include providing consultation, technical support, and training to St. Clair County RESA customers for client/server-based Student Information System (SIS) management software, including Power School and Skyward, as well as library management software, Destiny by Follett.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
- Bachelor's degree in a computer or business-related field preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience in customer support is desired, with knowledge of school business highly valued.
- Good working knowledge of computer environments, including Windows, Microsoft Office, Google applications, web browsers, and email systems, is required.
- Work experience in Power School, Skyward, and Destiny is desired, but complete training on the software will be provided.
- Candidates should be capable of supporting customers of varying skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to learn quickly.
- A valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with co-workers, staff, school districts, community agencies, and the public is crucial.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
ESSENTIAL
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide daily technical support to customers through telephone, email, and direct contact.
- Conduct customer training in various formats, including web-based sessions, in-person group settings, and one-on-one instruction.
- Prepare training materials, written procedural guides, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Conduct quality assurance testing and documentation for new applications, features, and functionalities.
- Be self-motivated and willing to take on critical application-related tasks.
- Assist local districts in developing specialized reports and implementing reporting changes.
- Make independent decisions and solve problems to contribute to the department's success, and provide backup assistance to peers as directed by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee must be able to stand, sit, bend, twist, lift, and walk as needed to perform all essential job functions.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Position Status: Non-union, at-will
Duration: 12-month position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Work Location: St. Clair County RESA, Marysville, MI
Employment Date: Pending Board approval and successful completion of background check, fingerprinting, and pre-employment drug screen
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and job responsibilities
- $40,000 - $50,000
