Working from the company’s Detroit office, you’ll join a small technical support team and take ownership of products returning from customers in the field. This is a practical, hands-on role involving testing, calibration, configuration and basic fault finding, ensuring equipment is operating correctly before being returned to the customer.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Carrying out basic fault finding and escalating more complex technical issues
  • Managing customer returns and the RMA process from receipt through to dispatch
  • Connecting equipment to PCs and using technical software for testing and configuration
  • Using hand tools and test equipment such as temperature meters, frequency meters and multimeters
  • Following established test, calibration and technical procedures
  • Accurately logging, tracking and documenting equipment throughout the process
What we’re looking for:
  • A practical service, test or technical background working with mechanical, electrical or electronic products
  • Hands-on fault-finding, testing, calibration or configuration experience
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • A systematic approach to managing technical equipment and customer returns
  • Confidence using manual hand tools and working directly with hardware
  • Good basic IT/software skills
  • The ability to follow written technical procedures accurately
It would be great if you also have experience in:
  • Electronics testing, calibration or hardware support
  • RMA/customer returns and diagnosing returned equipment
  • Automotive or vehicle testing
  • Electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Customer-facing technical support or 1st-line support

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and problem solving and wants to work with advanced technology used in some of the most exciting areas of autonomous and geospatial engineering.
