Inside The Role
The Vendor Scheduler is accountable for ensuring the on-time delivery of purchased components required to support production and distribution operations. This role manages supplier schedules through EDI and manual scheduling processes, balances material availability with inventory targets, and helps minimize premium freight. The position supports the Consolidation Center, parts distribution, and internal Machining departments while using data and analysis to identify supply risks, resolve delivery issues, and improve supply chain performance.

- Manage supplier schedules and ensure purchased components are available in the required quantities and at the required time to support operational demand.
- Analyze and adjust ERP parameters to meet production needs based on fluctuating customer demand, lead time and other factors.
- Execute and maintain EDI and manual scheduling processes, verifying that schedule requirements are accurate, timely, and clearly communicated.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and material availability; identify shortages, late deliveries, and other risks that could affect operations.
- Coordinate material flow in support of the Consolidation Center, parts distribution, and internal Machining departments.
- Manage domestic/international supply base for relevant aggregates
- Balance component availability with inventory-value objectives and premium-freight targets, escalating risks and trade-offs as appropriate.
- Control on hand inventory for multiple assembly plants in US and Mexico
- Assemble and analyze supply chain data to evaluate performance, identify trends, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and implement practical short-term containment actions and longer-term solutions within defined policies, procedures, and business requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery issues, communicate priorities, and maintain alignment on recovery actions.
- Maintain clear documentation of supply issues, decisions, recovery plans, and follow-up actions to support execution and accountability.
- Analyze material flow processes seeking opportunities for improvement based on lean/sig sigma concepts
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen scheduling, inventory, delivery, and issue-resolution processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of supply chain planning, material scheduling, inventory management, and supplier delivery concepts.
- Ability to use analytical and quantitative methods to interpret data, assess performance, and support sound decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes and develop effective short-term and long-term actions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requirements, exercise judgment within established procedures, and respond effectively to changing conditions.
- One to two years of relevant experience in supply chain planning, material scheduling, logistics, procurement, manufacturing, or a related environment.
- Experience supporting supplier performance, component availability, production operations, or distribution activities.
- Experience working with EDI-enabled and manual scheduling processes.
