Stathakis is seeking a dependable Janitorial Crew Lead for a full-time, on-site position in Detroit, MI. This role is ideal for someone who values cleanliness, consistency, safety, and teamwork, and who takes pride in leading efforts to maintain a clean, organized, and production-ready environment. The crew lead will oversee daily cleaning operations, ensure quality standards are met, and support a team in maintaining a safe and welcoming facility.

The position is a 3 on/3 off rotation from 5:00 pm to 3:30 am . The pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.

Position Summary:

The Crew Lead will provide day-to-day leadership to janitorial staff, assign cleaning duties, inspect completed work, train employees, manage supplies, and help ensure all client and company cleaning standards are met. The ideal candidate has previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, custodial work, or cleaning supervision and is comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of janitorial and cleaning employees.
• Assign daily cleaning duties and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
• Inspect facilities to ensure cleaning quality and company standards are maintained.
• Perform hands-on janitorial and commercial cleaning duties as needed.
• Train new and existing employees on proper cleaning procedures, safety practices, and equipment use.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, and productivity.
• Ensure restrooms, offices, common areas, floors, break rooms, and other assigned areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Properly use and maintain commercial cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Monitor janitorial supplies and report inventory needs to management.
• Follow OSHA, workplace safety, and company cleaning procedures.
• Address cleaning issues or client concerns professionally and promptly.
• Communicate daily operational needs and performance updates to management.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
• Complete cleaning checklists, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
• Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning, and other facility maintenance tasks when needed.

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of janitorial or facilities experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role
• Ability to lead, motivate, and hold a cleaning team accountable
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the workday
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard communication, and safe chemical handling
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly
• Comfortable working in environments with noise, heavy machinery, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
• Ability to wear required PPE,
  safety glasses , and hearing protection
• $20.00 per hour
