Position Summary

This position is part of GDI’s custodial call-off response team supporting DPS. Team members are not assigned to one permanent school. Employees will report to different DPS school locations based on daily call-offs, staffing shortages, and operational needs. If call-off coverage is not needed, employees will be assigned to a specific DPS location for project or supplemental custodial work.

Work Location and Assignment Expectations

• Work assignments will be at various DPS school locations and may change from one workday to another.
• Employees must have reliable transportation and be able to report to the assigned DPS location for their scheduled shift.
• Daily work locations will generally be communicated at least two hours before the scheduled start time.
• Employees will normally remain at the assigned location for the duration of that shift.
• Regular and dependable attendance is essential because the purpose of this team is to provide coverage when other employees are absent.

Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:

• Complete work with within budgeted time (8 hours)
• Cleaning of a school building
• Refill dispensers, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, hand sanitizer
• Cleaning restrooms, break-rooms, dusting and trash removal
• Sweeping, mopping and vacuum

Requirements:

• Attendance is essential
• Experience with cleaning school buildings a plus
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must satisfy applicable pre-employment and site-access requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Timekeeping (punching into and out of work using a phone-based system)
