We are searching for an experienced Parts Manager to lead the daily operations of a high-volume domestic automotive dealership’s parts department. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong dealership parts knowledge, a proactive management style, and the ability to drive efficiency, accuracy, and profitability while supporting the service team and overall dealership operations.
Responsibilities- Oversee all parts department functions, including inventory control, purchasing, pricing, and warranty parts returns.
- Maintain optimal inventory turn rates by balancing availability with financial performance.
- Implement and monitor lost sales tracking processes, ensuring consistent follow-up and accountability.
- Develop and execute a fast-moving parts stocking strategy aligned with technician and customer demand.
- Lead, train, and mentor a lean, high-performing team focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with technicians, advisors, and service leadership to improve communication and workflow efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships, parts ordering systems, and warranty return processes to minimize loss and maximize recoveries.
- Maintain accurate records for parts purchases, returns, adjustments, and core management.
- Enforce departmental policies and ensure compliance with dealership standards and procedures.
- Drive operational efficiency through strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive parts department; management or supervisory experience required.
- Strong understanding of dealership parts operations, including forecasting, pricing, inventory control, and returns.
- Proven ability to lead teams, train staff, and operate a productive, lean department.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with dealership management systems;
Reynolds & Reynolds experience preferred. - Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working across departments.
