The Company is seeking a VP, Policy to lead the development and execution of a bold, actionable policy agenda focused on climate and equity. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and VP for States to identify and prioritize policies that address the climate crisis and promote a more equitable world. This role involves not only visioning and developing policy but also building the political conditions necessary for their implementation.
The VP, Policy will be responsible for overseeing policy analyses, providing strategic guidance, and representing the organization in various capacities. They will also be tasked with managing a diverse set of organizational partnerships to advance intersectional policies and strategies. The ideal candidate for the VP, Policy position at the company will have a proven track record in climate policy, with at least 10 years' experience in policy research, development, or advocacy.
They should have a deep understanding of state and federal climate policy and its impact on meaningful climate action. The role requires a strategic leader who can inspire and mentor a team, as well as foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. Experience in clean power, sustainable transportation, and building decarbonization is highly valued. The candidate must be committed to the mission of defeating the climate crisis and advancing a just and inclusive clean energy future, and be adept at building and maintaining partnerships across the climate and democratic ecosystems.
