Harborview Medical Center Environmental Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Custodian Supervisor.

Work schedule:

100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day Shift.

Position Highlights
  • Supervise a staff of 25 or more custodians and one Custodial Supervisor
  • Train subordinates and perform administrative responsibilities such as recommending supply levels, staffing levels, staff training requirements, and department policies and procedures
  • Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First

Job Responsibilities
  • Under general direction, serve as a second-line supervisor in a custodial department
  • With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action
  • Determines staffing needs of assigned building; analyze workloads and assign work to employees
  • Train new staff that have been hired into Housekeeping and Linen departments
  • Will supervise the First Shift (Day Shift) staff in the Trauma Emergency Room, making sure all areas are cleaned according to policy
  • Inspect buildings to determine cleaning needs and job assignments
  • Monitor hand hygiene compliance, retrain as needed and report findings to Operations Manager
  • Prepare reports related to custodial services, such as equipment inventories and custodial procedures
Requirements
  • Three years of experience in custodial or general maintenance work
  • Two years of experience as a Custodian Supervisor
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $57,648.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum: $82,476.00 annual
