Production Manager
Production Supervisor Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee production lines in an automotive setting
- The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in production management, safety protocols, and continuous improvement, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency
- Supervise, lead, coach, and direct team leaders and labor with respect to production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to the UAP Manager
- Plan headcount for absences, holidays, training, and workshops
- Collaborate with Team Leaders to schedule rotation of Operators
- Liaise with support functions such as maintenance, HSE, and quality to resolve build issues and prevent recurrence
- Oversee re-work as required and manage the closure of line QRCI's, coaching team leaders to resolve issues independently
- Ensure team members adhere to the principles of 7 Quality Basics, including OK First Part, Poka Yoke, Self-inspection, Final Inspection, Red Bins, Rework Under control, and QRCI
- Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, 5S, and good housekeeping practices
- Encourage continuous improvement in all areas and follow up on improvement ideas, liaising with support functions when necessary
- Promote a safe work environment and conduct disciplinary, return to work, and performance evaluation interviews with team members
- Validate operator polyvalence levels and set polyvalence targets each week
- Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company
- Proven experience in production supervision within an automotive setting
- Strong knowledge of production management, safety protocols, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Process Improvement
- Ability to supervise and lead a team effectively
- Familiarity with union environments and working with UAW
This is a Permanent position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
