Our client, a leading manufacturer in the commercial vehicle industry, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting Engine Assembly and Axle Assembly operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a hands‑on approach to troubleshooting that will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer III
Location: Detroit, MI
Pay Range: $47 - $54/hour
What’s the Job?
Provide maintenance engineering support for Engine Assembly operations and Axle Assembly areas as needed.
Troubleshoot tooling, equipment, and production issues to minimize downtime and support daily operations.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures for existing and new equipment.
Review drawings and BOMs to establish recommended spare parts lists and support equipment reliability.
Lead tooling, process improvement, and product change implementation projects.
What’s Needed?
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in an assembly environment.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and equipment maintenance practices.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with production teams, supervisors, and skilled trades.
