Operate or tend washing and drying machines to wash and dry-clean industrial or household articles, blankets, linens, including using spotters.

• Direct operational or production activities.
• Operate garment treatment equipment.
• Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading.
• Count and record finished products or work pieces.
• Remove products or work pieces from production equipment.
• Clean production equipment.
• Lubricate production equipment as needed.
• Inspect items for defects, damage, or stains.
• Mark products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying or standards.
• Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.
• Smooth garments wit irons, presses, or steamers.
• Mount materials or work pieces onto production equipment.
• Prepare fabrics or materials for processing or production.

• The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm in one position.
• The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
• The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with you arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• The ability to see details at close range.
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• The ability to be active in a warm to hot, limited space laundry room.

• Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control over costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Active Listening
  - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Monitoring
  - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

Little or no previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience is needed.
