Industry Advisory Board
VOLUNTEER POSITION
The Michigan Boredom fighters Advisory Board exists to provide strategic guidance, community credibility, and resource development support to help Boredom fighters expand its mission of bringing modern music education, mentorships, and resources to youth across Michigan.
Advisory Board members serve as ambassadors, connectors, and strategic thought partners that help strengthen the organization’s impact, sustainability, and visibility.
Core Responsibilities1. Strategic Guidance
- Provide high-level input on organizational direction, growth, and partnerships
- Offer expertise in areas such as fundraising, marketing, community engagement, nonprofit governance, or operations
- Participate in 6 advisory meetings per year (30 minute call every other month.)
- Promote the Boredom fighters mission within personal and professional networks
- Introduce the organization to potential partners, sponsors, donors, and collaborators
- Attend select events when possible
- Identify and facilitate introductions to funding opportunities
- Support sponsorship conversations and community investment efforts
- Contribute personally at a meaningful level (financially or through in‑kind/professional support)
- Lend name and professional reputation to strengthen trust and community buy‑in
- Offer testimonials, quotes, or public support when appropriate
- Provide insight into community trends and opportunities
- Music Industry Professionals / Leaders
- Community leaders and connectors
- Business owners and entrepreneurs
- Real estate professionals and developers
- Marketing, media, and brand leaders
- Philanthropic and nonprofit advocates
- Short (30min) advisory meetings every other month
- Periodic introductions and strategic check‑ins
- Attendance at at least one major Boredom fighters event annually
- Meaningful involvement in changing the lives of youth through music
- Meaningful involvement in strengthening Michigan music communities
- Expanded professional network
- Public alignment with a mission‑driven organization
- Early insight into programming, partnerships, and growth initiatives
Michigan Boredom fighters is building infrastructure for a brighter future - creating opportunities for under‑served youth through music.
The Advisory Board helps ensure that growth is strategic, sustainable, and deeply rooted in the people who care about Michigan’s future.
