Position Overview
This full-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) position at Henry Ford Health offers a strictly inpatient role focused on direct patient management in collaboration with attending neonatologists. The position is a 36-hour FTE and is ideal for experienced NNPs, though newly graduated NNPs or those graduating within the next six months will also be considered. The NNP will provide comprehensive neonatal care within a collaborative, team-based environment, supporting high-quality, evidence-based care for critically ill newborns.

Starting Bonus Available
Location: HF Detroit Main Hospital
Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% inpatient.
Patients: Neonatal.
Position DetailsSchedule – 36 hours. Rotating 12-hour shifts; 24-hour shifts will be considered.
Weekend requirement – Yes, generally on average every 3rd.
Call requirement – No.

- NP – Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
- NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan
To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, candidates must be external applicants with a minimum of three (3) years of Neonatal Nurse Practitioner experience
. Internal transfers are not eligible. Continued employment in the same department, location, and benefit status and maintaining good standing is required to receive all bonus payments.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)
- National certification as an NP
- Certified by NCC
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.
- DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of a controlled substance license since they won t have a CSL.
- PAL certified.
Department would work with provider to get certified after hiring as well.
Experience- Previous experience in Neonatal Care, preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
