Registered Nurse (RN) needed in Critical Access Hospital Outside of Detroit, MI. Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of Nursing Leadership, the Registered Nurse provides direct, high-quality patient care and oversees care delivered by other nursing staff, performing all required duties and procedures for diverse patient populations.

  • Patient Care: Assesses patient needs, administers care, and provides health promotion and disease prevention education.

  • Collaboration: Serves as the primary liaison, frequently interacting with patients, families, and providers to discuss care, concerns, and conflict resolution.

  • Documentation: Ensures pertinent and applicable documentation is completed.

  • Skill Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining performance skills and knowledge of current nursing standards.

  • Cross-Training: Participates in cross-training for Medical/Surgical and Emergency Services.

  • Leadership: Must be capable of functioning in a leadership role, acting as a resource, and assuming command in emergency/crisis situations.

Schedule & Requirements
  • Hours:
    12-hour shifts with required Weekend and Holiday rotations
    . Schedule is subject to adjustment based on workload (including low census utilization).

  • Core Competencies: Requires exemplary critical thinking and technical skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in stressful situations while maintaining composure, and effective communication skills.

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • License: Current Michigan Board of Nursing license as a Registered Nurse.

  • Experience (Preferred): One year of medical-surgical, emergency nursing, or equivalent experience.

  • Certifications:

    • BLS required within 3 months of hire.

    • ACLS & TNCC required within 1 year of hire.

  • Professional: Must demonstrate a positive attitude, responsibility, and initiative, and be committed to integrating quality improvement and professional practice concepts into care delivery.
