RN Nurse Educator - Ambulatory Urology - Detroit

Full Time position – Monday to Friday, no weekends. Grant funded position.

Educating patients on post‑op care. Develops and leads mandatory live virtual pre‑op education sessions once a week discussing the surgical process, recovery expectations and post‑op care. Q&A. Provides educational resources and required information to the patient to create best patient experience. Collaborates with multiple modalities on the team to ensure coordinated care. Regularly audits the process to make necessary adjustments.

Pre/post, perioperative experience; patient education; discharge instructions; wound care; pain management; catheter care, etc. Minimum of 3 years inpatient/clinic RN experience.

This position is responsible for collaborative assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation or consultation on educational activities to develop, maintain, and enhance clinical, educational and leadership skills of nursing and assistant personnel. RN with a bachelor's degree in nursing or related fields, 3 years clinical nursing experience, and an RN license in the State of Michigan without restrictions.
