General Summary
Under general supervision, demonstrates ability to handle nursing problems and, in general, an expanded group of nursing practices. Performs nursing intervention across a variety of nursing situations. Identifies patient problems prior to explicit changes in patient‑specific data collection (such as vital signs).
Shift Availability
Contingent – 24 hours per month. Shifts available: midnights.

Nurses float where staffing needs are identified, including covering employee leave, call‑ins, increased census, or vacation requests. The program offers flexibility, allowing an RN to schedule based on desired hours with minimal commitment.

Education/Experience Required- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Two to three years of recent related clinical nursing experience in the area of practice and a demonstrated level of performance required.
- Willingness to float to multiple locations.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS.
- Current ACLS, NRP, EFM, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS where required.
- TB and vaccines (e.g., flu).
