Job Summary

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for ensuring the timely and quality completion of nursing care by the team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, applying independent judgment and collaborating with all team members, including ancillary and support services.

The role includes leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
• Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
• Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision‑making activities.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
