Position: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Endoscopy Full Time Days

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Endoscopy Full Time Days

Administers intravenous and inhalation anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during endoscopy scopes and advanced procedures. Potentially administers anesthesia to all ages and A.S.A. classes of patients, including geriatrics and pediatrics. No night shifts with a mix of 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts. No weekends, no holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership in the professional practice setting.
  • Supports and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Delegates tasks to assistive personnel in a respectful professional manner.
  • Identifies patient problems and collaborates with the Anesthesia/Surgeon/Perioperative team in selection of appropriate interventions.
  • Interacts with members of the health care team to plan and coordinate the delivery of care.
  • Promotes a healthy work environment through professional communication standards, commitment to co‑workers, and positive problem‑solving.
  • Conducts appropriate pre‑anesthetic assessments and documents findings.
  • In collaboration with the anesthesiologist, determines the appropriate anesthetic plan and manages all aspects of anesthesia care to include preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative care.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures.
  • Provides airway management and/or intubations for emergent, non‑emergent, and resuscitation situations throughout the hospital.
  • Anticipates and exceeds patients and customers’ expectations that meet all elements of the Henry Ford Experience.
  • Identifies services and care improvement ideas and acts on them to create excellent care.
  • Supports and assumes personal accountability for consistently upholding team members to the standards across the System and adhering to Henry Ford Health policies and procedures.
  • Recognizes the unique contribution of all health care team members.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Uses and documents the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients.

  • Maintains compliance with regulatory standards regarding practice, environment, and documentation.
  • Directs and delegates nursing care based on patient acuity and staff competency.
  • Participates in quality improvement/ patient safety initiatives and programs.

  • Contributes to establishing, maintaining, and improving the workplace environment that encourages respectful interactions with colleagues.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills in appropriate technology.
  • Provides education for staff, colleagues, patients, and/or families.

  • Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
  • Integrates research findings into practice.
  • Participates in community activities and/or professional organizations.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in collaborative situations with anesthesiologists and other health care providers.
  • Clinical privileges.
  • State of Michigan RN license.
  • Must practice the customer skills as provided through ongoing training and in‑services.
  • Personal qualities such as flexibility, teamwork, initiative, willingness to learn, openness to new learning experiences, and respect for diversity.
Physical Demands

Frequent walking, bending, lifting may be required to perform duties. Work is performed in P1, Henry Ford Main’s new endoscopy suite. Working conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards. Driving may be required, depending on specialty.
