Detroit Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator, Endoscopy for a nursing job in Detroit, Michigan.
Employment type: Staff
Shift length: 12 hours (36 hours/week) – ongoing
Sign‑on bonus: Up to $10,000, based on relevant experience.
Job SummaryIn addition to the staff nurse role, the RN Clinical Coordinator manages shift responsibilities for the care delivery team, including assigning and scheduling staff and prioritizing care. The coordinator evaluates patient care, facilitates process improvement activities, and works with interdisciplinary teams to solve unit‑ and system‑level issues.
Job Responsibilities- Lead and serve as a resource for nursing personnel.
- Plan and facilitate staff meetings, staff development, and clinical resource sessions with the clinical manager.
- Monitor schedules to maintain adequate nurse‑patient ratios.
- Communicate staffing changes to the staffing office and review monthly schedules.
- Facilitate shared decision‑making among staff and improve unit throughput and length of stay.
- Coordinate and deliver in‑service programs to enhance staff competencies.
- Assist with interviewing, selecting, retaining, mentoring and evaluating staff.
- Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and department standards.
- Assist with department process improvement and peer review.
- Associate’s Degree or Diploma required; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure in Michigan.
- One to two years of progressively responsible experience with documented leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate, and facilitate processes.
- Minimum level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria (internal applicants preferred).
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
