Position OverviewHenry Ford Health is seeking a contingent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Employee Health team. This role provides clinical support across multiple Henry Ford Health hospitals and Employee Health locations, working at the direction of the Medical Director to meet system-wide staffing needs. Responsibilities include the evaluation and management of work-related injuries and illnesses, blood borne pathogen exposures, employee health screenings, vaccinations, and regulatory compliance in accordance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and CDC guidelines.
Qualified candidates should have experience in Employee Health, Occupational Health, Urgent Care, or a similar ambulatory setting, with strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Candidates must be comfortable rotating between sites and adapting to a variety of clinical environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible clinician who enjoys combining direct patient care with preventive and population health while supporting the health and safety of team members across the Henry Ford Health system.
- NP or PA graduate from an accredited program
- Current Michigan licensure
- National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
- BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
- Employee health, occupational health, urgent care, internal medicine experience, preferred.
- Nurse Practitioner (NP):
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) - Physician Assistant (PA):
Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)
- NP:
National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP) - PA:
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (may be obtained after hire)
- PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
- NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
