Job Overview
Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator (RN) – Preoperative
Detroit Medical Center – DMC Sinai‑Grace Hospital
Ongoing staff position
36 hours per week (12‑hour shifts)
- Lead and serve as a resource for nursing personnel.
- Coordinate staffing, shift assignments, and nurse–patient ratios to maintain appropriate ratios.
- Facilitate shared decision‑making among staff and improve unit throughput and length of stay (LOS).
- Organize and deliver in‑service training to support staff competence.
- Assist in hiring, retaining, mentoring, and evaluating nursing staff.
- Help develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for the department.
- Participate in process improvement, peer review, and unit‑based quality initiatives.
- Provide input for nursing staff performance appraisals.
- Perform abbreviated patient care duties to support leadership responsibilities.
- Associate’s degree or diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Registered Nursing license in the state of Michigan.
- 1–2 years of progressive nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Strong prioritization, delegation, and facilitation skills.
- Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria (preferred for internal candidates).
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
