Ongoing staff position
36 hours per week (12‑hour shifts)

• Lead and serve as a resource for nursing personnel.
• Coordinate staffing, shift assignments, and nurse–patient ratios to maintain appropriate ratios.
• Facilitate shared decision‑making among staff and improve unit throughput and length of stay (LOS).
• Organize and deliver in‑service training to support staff competence.
• Assist in hiring, retaining, mentoring, and evaluating nursing staff.
• Help develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for the department.
• Participate in process improvement, peer review, and unit‑based quality initiatives.
• Provide input for nursing staff performance appraisals.
• Perform abbreviated patient care duties to support leadership responsibilities.

• Associate’s degree or diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Registered Nursing license in the state of Michigan.
• 1–2 years of progressive nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Strong prioritization, delegation, and facilitation skills.
• Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria (preferred for internal candidates).
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
