Job Summary

The Quality Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and supporting the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems for the Company. Collaborate and train Team Members for the use of quality methods and tools and support the Plant for improvement initiatives. This may include auditing to ensure compliance, although it may be carried out by a third-party accredited body.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with the required industry standards, including TS16949; ISO 9001.
  • Regulate, control and improve the quality of all processes throughout the business.
  • Manage the audit program to ensure that all nonconformities raised against certification bodies during audits are effectively corrected and independently verified.
  • Set a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company.
  • Lead the team to achieve quality management system targets for customers and business goals.
  • Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure that all in‑house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
  • Update quality documentation and communicate lessons learned from quality concerns.
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.
  • Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures.
  • Perform regular internal and process audits of the QMS.
  • Ensure corrective actions are undertaken to address non‑conformities found.
  • Verify closure of non‑conformities.
  • Provide detailed analysis of non‑conformities.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System (TS16949/ISO
    9001).
  • Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
  • Produce written reports and make presentations.
  • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Track system compliance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree required;
    Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred.
  • Experience:

    7+ years in Quality field.
  • Significant experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
Travel
  • Travel Required:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of the latest automotive tools and techniques.
  • Automotive Quality Management System Auditing experience and managing audit programs.
  • Detailed understanding of TS16949, ISO 9001.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills.
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow‑up skills.
  • Product and process knowledge required.
  • Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor certification needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to train the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to use problem‑solving methodologies.
  • High level computer skills including Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Sense of urgency and overall customer satisfaction focus.
