Research Assistant/Associate, Research Scientist
Research Assistant – Department of Pharmacology
Position focuses on basic cancer research in a laboratory studying the role of extracellular proteases in tumor progression.
Responsibilities- Maintenance and analysis of various models of cancer.
- Maintain records of experimental procedures.
- Assist in general laboratory management, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and ordering.
- Participate in all aspects of the research process, such as cell culture, siRNA knockdown, immunofluorescence staining, molecular cloning, PCR, western blotting, and data analysis.
- Assist with training in all laboratory procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology, or related discipline.
- Prior lab experience with routine molecular biology or biochemical techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management and organization skills.
- Experience with data analysis programs.
- Experience with tissue culture.
- Experience with laboratory animal work.
Regular Employee, Full Time, Research category.
Annual Salary (salary range TBD).
Working ConditionsTypical work environment may include a laboratory and or office; may require non-standard business hours, evenings, weekends, and travel to scientific conferences.
