Wayne State University is searching for an experienced

Research Assistant, Part-Time, Institute of Gerontologyat its Detroit campus location.

Position

Purpose:

To support research activity specified within a funded grant application, including MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) data processing and quality control, data analysis and reporting, and development of materials to support dissemination of methods and results.

Essential Functions:

MRI Data Curation:

Organize MRI data and accompanying demographic information for pre-processing and documentation.

MRI Data Processing:
Assist with MRI data preprocessing and segmentation for derivative measures and masks, including quality control procedures and documentation.

Data Analysis:
Assist with analysis of data, including descriptive analysis, producing tables of demographics and scan description, missing data analysis, and regression.

Reporting:
Assist with reporting data analysis results in publication-ready format as conference abstracts, posters, and manuscript preparation with supervision. Knowledge of APA (American Psychological Association) and other style guidelines and relevant literature review is included.

Dissemination:
Assist with preparation of documents, images, and example screen recordings of MRI data processing procedures and derivative data to support dissemination of methods and results.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree

Preferred:
Master's degree

Discipline:
Psychology

Experience:

Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree is required and a 2-year master's degree is preferred.

Organizational

Skills:

Must be organized, professional, able to work independently or with a team. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively is critical.

Interpersonal

Skills:

Good interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting effectively with team members and participants.

Communication

Skills:

Must have proficient oral and written communication skills.
Good oral and written communication skills are required for participant recruitment and for writing articles.

Computer

Skills:

Be well acquainted with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Preferred knowledge of statistical software packages and MRI data processing packages.

Statistical

Skills:

Must have prior experience with univariate and multivariate statistics. Preferred master's-level coursework in applied statistics.

Complete CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) program training for Human Subject Approval.
