Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant, Part-Time, Institute of Gerontology at its Detroitcampus location.

PositionPurpose:
To support research activity specified within a funded grantapplication, including MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) data processing and quality control, data analysis and reporting, and development of materials to support dissemination of methods and results.
Essential Functions:MRI Data Curation
Organize MRI data and accompanyingdemographic information for pre-processing and documentation.
MRI Data ProcessingAssist with MRI data preprocessing andsegmentation for derivative measures and masks, including quality control procedures and documentation.
Data AnalysisAssist with analysis of data, includingdescriptive analysis, producing tables of demographics and scandescription, missing data analysis, and regression.
ReportingAssist with reporting data analysis results inpublication-ready format as conference abstracts, posters, andmanuscript preparation with supervision. Knowledge of APA (American Psychological Association) and other style guidelines and relevantliterature review is included.
DisseminationAssist with preparation of documents, images,and example screen recordings of MRI data processing procedures and derivative data to support dissemination of methods and results.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree
PreferredMaster’s degree
DisciplinePsychology
ExperienceExperienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience).
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor’s degree is required and a 2-year master’s degree is preferred.
Organizational SkillsMust be organized, professional, able to work independently or witha team. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively is critical.
InterpersonalSkills:
Good interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting effectively with team members and participants.
Communication SkillsMust have proficient oral and written communication skills. Goodoral and written communication skills are required for participant recruitment and for writing articles.
Computer SkillsBe well acquainted with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Preferred knowledge of statistical software packages and MRI data processing packages.
Must have prior experience with univariate and multivariatestatistics. Preferred master’s-level coursework in appliedstatistics.
Complete CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) program training for Human Subject Approval.
