Research Assistant, Institute Of Gerontology, Part-Time

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant, Institute of Gerontology, Part-Time at its Detroit campus location. Position

Purpose:

Provide part-time support for research studies focused on social and psychological determinants of health and aging. Assist with day-to-day research activities, participant communication, data organization, and administrative support.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with qualitative research activities, including scheduling interviews, organizing/editing/coding transcripts, maintaining study files, and supporting data management.
  • Support recruitment, participant tracking, and study logistics for research activities
  • Assist with literature reviews, formatting references, and preparing research-related materials and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree.

Discipline: Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Life Sciences, Social Work, Gerontology, Criminal Justice, or related field.

Experience: Entry level (at least one year of job-related experience).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
  • Interest in aging, psychology, or public health research preferred.
