Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Post Doctoral Fellow to join our dermatology research team in Detroit, United States. The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research projects while developing expertise in dermatological research methodologies, translational approaches, and clinical applications.

- Design, conduct, and analyze dermatological research studies using established protocols and innovative methodologies, ensuring scientific rigor and accuracy
- Collect, manage, and analyze research data with precision, utilizing statistical software and research databases to generate meaningful insights
- Prepare and present research findings through peer-reviewed publications, scientific presentations, and institutional seminars, communicating complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary research teams, including clinicians, laboratory scientists, biostatisticians, and support staff to achieve research objectives
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and comprehensive documentation in compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations
- Contribute to grant writing efforts and assist in securing research funding to support ongoing and future research initiatives
- Mentor and support junior research staff and students on research techniques, best practices, and professional development
- Stay current with dermatological literature and emerging research trends to inform project development and maintain competitive research programs
- Ensure full compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements, HIPAA regulations, and ethical guidelines governing human subjects research
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, journal clubs, seminars, and professional development activities to foster a collaborative research environment
- Troubleshoot research challenges and implement creative solutions while maintaining flexibility and resilience in a dynamic research setting
Qualifications Required
Skills and Experience:
- Ph.D. or M.D. in dermatology, biomedical sciences, immunology, molecular biology, or a closely related field
- Advanced research experience in dermatology, immunology, molecular biology, or related biomedical disciplines
- Demonstrated expertise in dermatological research methodologies and clinical research protocols
- Strong scientific writing ability with proven experience preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical software (such as SPSS, R, or SAS), and research databases
- Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques relevant to dermatological research
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, including IRB protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex scientific information effectively
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team environment
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Time management skills and commitment to meeting research deadlines and milestones
Skills and Experience:
- Published research in peer-reviewed dermatology or related journals
- Experience with clinical trial design, implementation, and management
- Grant writing experience or active involvement in grant preparation and submission
- Familiarity with specialized dermatological research equipment or advanced imaging technologies
- Experience mentoring, training, or supervising junior researchers or students
- Presentation experience at regional or national scientific conferences
- Knowledge of translational research approaches and bench-to-bedside methodologies
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and research data management platforms
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in dermatology research
