Position SummaryOur client is seeking an early-career Account Manager – Automotive to manage a high volume of existing customer relationships while supporting growth initiatives across the Metro Detroit region and nearby states. This role is ideal for a driven professional with strong relationship-building skills who wants to develop within a global precision manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing automotive accounts (≈75% of role focus)
- Develop new business opportunities within assigned territory (≈25%)
- Call on Automotive Tier 2, Tier 3 suppliers, and OEM customers
- Serve as primary liaison between customers and internal engineering/manufacturing teams
- Identify new programs, applications, and cross-selling opportunities
- Support quoting, program launches, and commercial negotiations
- Track sales activity, forecasts, and account performance metrics
- Travel within territory as needed (up to 25%)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Business, or related field a plus)
- 0–5 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer-facing role in manufacturing or industrial markets
- Exposure to automotive supply chain or engineered products preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Willingness to travel within region
