  • Deep operational capability, including 15 technicians, multiple project managers, and a scalable union electrician workforce ranging from 30 to 60 at peak periods.

The Boss:

This role reports into a business development‑focused leader who manages construction sales and partners closely with the operations manager overseeing delivery. Expect strong mentorship, streamlined decision‑making, and a highly collaborative leadership environment. You’ll be supported by leaders with decades of market knowledge and a deep investment in growing the sales organization.

The Position:

The Construction Sales Representative is responsible for driving new building automation project sales throughout Metro Detroit. You will target mechanical contractors, architects, engineers, and other project influencers to identify and secure construction opportunities.

The position exists due to the need for expanded market coverage—an immediate chance to build a substantial pipeline and deepen the company’s long‑standing presence in the region.

Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned):
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new building automation construction projects across Metro Detroit.
  • Develop specifications, proposals, and customer solutions by calling on mechanical contractors, engineers, and architects.
  • Generate a minimum of $5M annually in new project sales.
  • Present and promote automation solutions using Tridium, ALC, and other supported platforms.
  • Collaborate with in‑house technicians, project managers, and union electricians to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Stay current on the competitive landscape, including companies referenced in market discussions such as JCI, CSI, KNS Ventures, Control Net, and others.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience in construction sales, building automation, HVAC controls, mechanical contracting, or a related field.
  • Ability to manage and grow a multimillion‑dollar pipeline.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally represent a respected organization.

Preferred:

  • Existing relationships within the Metro Detroit mechanical, electrical, or controls contracting community.
  • Experience selling Tridium‑based control systems.
  • Familiarity with union labor environments.
