We are seeking a highly driven and innovative Federal Account Director I to manage key federal accounts, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Federal Reserve System, and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors (BOG). This position requires managing customers in the assigned accounts with the goal of meeting and exceeding sales targets and growing Lumen's footprint within these established accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement an account plan and sales strategy to drive growth within the assigned accounts.
- Leverage prior Salesforce experience to ensure accurate forecasting of sales opportunities and provide funnel management insight.
- Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior customer leadership and key account partners to drive growth.
- Promote key Lumen messages in alignment with customer mission(s).
- Account Management
- Efficient management of sales processes.
- Support proposal and capture teams on assigned accounts.
- Employ strategic account planning to expand services and sales within assigned accounts.
- Conduct competitor analysis for winning market positioning.
- 5+ years of technical sales experience.
- At least 5 years of experience selling into federal government agencies.
- Existing experience with the Federal Reserve and/or SEC is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage and influence customer relationships at the senior executive level.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including coaching, mentoring, and leading others.
- Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- High self‑motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to learn quickly and apply knowledge to develop account expansion plans.
- Must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Washington, DC.

Compensation & BenefitsLocation based pay ranges $94,154 - $125,528 for DC, MD, VA. Lumen offers a comprehensive package with health, life, voluntary lifestyle benefits and other perks. Compensation includes a base salary and potential bonuses (short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, and sales compensation).
Background ScreeningIf selected, a background screen will include checks for criminal records, motor vehicle reports, and drug screening as applicable. Background results will be evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis.
