Position: Area Business Director (Nephrology) - Detroit, MI

Position Summary:

As an Area Business Director (Nephrology), cultivate and maintain a direct customer-facing presence with nephrology healthcare providers, office/clinic staff, and affiliated dialysis center personnel as needed; establish Ardelyx as an innovator in novel mechanism medicines that meet important clinical needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Achieve sales objectives.
  • Drive results through accountability, collaboration, compliance, and teamwork with healthcare professionals and their patients.
  • Establish and implement an effective sales plan that meets (ideally exceeds) sales goals and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate with ABD peers to optimize product opportunities via coordination and information sharing tied to nephrology practices and dialysis organizations.
  • Partner with Marketing, Patient Services, and Market Access to share territory insights and enable best practices.
  • Master clinical data, disease state knowledge, competitive products, and market access information to deliver relevant messaging to decision-makers and influencers.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Ardelyx compliance policies.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical/biotech industry sales experience.
  • Specialty pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience; nephrology preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving and/or outperforming sales goals.
  • Product launch experience.
  • Patient service hubs and specialty pharmacy distribution knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience in competitive markets.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical sales/marketing laws and regulations to physicians and healthcare organizations.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
  • Strong clinical/scientific acumen to influence healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge/relationships in nephrology (plus): providers, office/clinic staff, dialysis centers, and local patient advocacy groups.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and key performance metrics.
  • Integrity and attention to detail; honesty and accuracy.
  • Prior sales management experience (plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree.
