Job SummaryThe Account Manager is a member of the Sales organization. This position is responsible for developing customer relationships with existing customers to increase the share of wallet with each customer in their portfolio. This position is also responsible for growing new customer accounts by 10% per year. This is done by partnering with the Estimator on project bids to develop pricing strategies to discuss with the client to win projects.
The Account Manager must have intimate knowledge of the pricing and scope of each project in their customer portfolio to close/win projects
- Owns the customer relationship and becomes THE point of contact for each assigned customer.
- Logs all call and meeting notes in CRM system relative to project awards for management review.
- When a project is bid, follows up with the customer via phone and email within 24 hrs. Meets, in person with the customer within 72 hours to review the details of our proposal.
- Updates expected award dates in CRM and notes about what competitors have bid the project.
- Meets with customers to review bid scope, value engineering options, and pricing to close deals.
- In partnership with the Estimator, feeds back information to refine the bid package to close deals.
- Become an expert user of the CRM system. Logs every call, email, voicemail, in the CRM, same day.
- If bid packages is not accepted, captures which GC and/or which competitor won. Captures as much information as possible for not being selected (i.e. note price difference, scope differences, etc)
- Develops a rhythm and visitation schedule for tier 1-3 customers as prescribed by management.
- Continues to foster key customer relationships through relationship building and compliant entertainment.
Required Qualifications (the non‑negotiables)
- Sales experience - 2–5 years in B2B sales, account management, or customer-facing roles.
- CRM proficiency
- Experience with Salesforce, Hub Spot, or similar platforms. - Communication skills
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities. - Negotiation and closing ability
- Demonstrated success in managing deals or renewals. - Relationship management
- Ability to build trust and maintain long‑term client partnerships. - Organizational skills

- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience.
- Industry experience – Construction with large General Contractors.
- Technical aptitude — Ability to read and understand construction drawings and bid specifications
- Data‑driven mindset — Comfortable with forecasting, KPIs, and pipeline analytics.
- Account expansion skills — Experience with upselling, cross‑selling, or strategic account growth.
