Description

Are you looking to be part of a high-performing team of go-getters who make a difference both on and off the court? Join the Detroit Pistons as we harness the power of basketball to unite our city, elevate our fans, and drive lasting community impact.

As a Business Development Executive, you will generate revenue through the sale of Detroit Pistons ticket packages, premium hospitality offerings, and suite products at Little Caesars Arena. Your primary focus will include full-season memberships, partial plans, group outings, single-event suite rentals, and annual suite leases for both individual consumers and corporate clients.

Success in this role requires a proactive and consultative approach to selling, consistent prospecting, strong relationship management, and the ability to turn business needs into customized ticketing and hospitality solutions.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Generate new revenue through the sale of full-season memberships, partial plans, group outings, premium hospitality products, single-event suite rentals, and annual suite leases.
  • Sell Detroit Pistons and select non-basketball event products to individual consumers, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through outbound calls, personalized email outreach, social selling, networking, referrals, events, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Conduct consultative discovery conversations to understand each prospect’s business, entertainment, hospitality, or personal needs.
  • Develop customized recommendations and presentations that connect prospective clients with the appropriate ticketing or premium experience.
  • Schedule and conduct appointments, arena tours, and in-person meetings at Little Caesars Arena and throughout the Metro Detroit community.
  • Manage an assigned book of business and identify opportunities for renewals, upgrades, referrals, and additional purchases.
  • Meet or exceed established weekly, monthly, and annual activity and revenue goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of prospecting activity, client communication, pipeline progress, and sales results in Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Deliver a high level of service to all prospects and clients, regardless of purchase level.
  • Develop creative prospecting strategies and sales initiatives that generate new business opportunities.
  • Build relationships within the Metro Detroit business community through networking events, professional organizations, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Ticket Sales, Service, Premium, Marketing, Partnerships, and other departments to support organizational goals.
  • Participate in sales meetings, coaching sessions, training programs, game-day activities, and organizational events.
  • Contribute positively to a competitive, collaborative, and accountable sales culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least two years of successful sales, business development, or revenue-generating experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships, manage a sales pipeline, and close business.
  • Experience using a consultative sales approach with individual consumers or business clients.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, resilient, and comfortable working in a performance-driven sales environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance prospecting, appointments, follow-up, and client service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team-focused culture.
  • Existing relationships within the Metro Detroit business community preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with customer relationship management or ticketing platforms preferred; experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Ticketmaster Archtics is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new sales, CRM, and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to navigate Little Caesars Arena, conduct facility tours, and meet with clients throughout the venue.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, home games, and special events.
