Sales Associate

The Peacock Room in Detroit, MI is looking for a full-time sales associate to join our diverse team. Full-time status is considered at least 32 hours or more within a week. We are located at 3011 West Grand Blvd. in the historic Fisher Building. Our ideal candidate is attentive, energetic, and takes initiative. Candidate must have weekend availability. Our regular business hours are 11pm-6pm Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours until 7, 7:30 or 8pm during Fisher Theatre performances.

Hours do change throughout the year.

A sales associate will be responsible for all facets of the business. Our sales associates will drive sales and keep the store looking presentable through merchandising. They will have a passion for fashion of all decades, our values, and most of all, our customers. The genuine desire to provide attentive service is a must.

A sales associate will have a sense of personal style, polished appearance, refined taste and a discerning eye for our clients. They will understand the importance of attracting and retaining customers through marketing of all our brands.

• Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 40 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques
• Ability to maneuver effectively around salesfloor, stock room and any office orstorage areas
• Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting,bending and climbing

The Peacock Room does offer a benefit program through Michigan Retailers Association for full-time employees whom average over 30 hours per week. You may elect to enroll in medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance at discounted rates. The Peacock Room will provide a $60 per month allowance to apply to whatever benefits you choose. Coverage starts on the next 1st of the month after hire.

A manager will present you with forms for this optional coverage.

Full-time employees also accrue 1 hour of PTO for every 35 hours worked.
