Description
- Conducts routine inspections of machinery and equipment.
- Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) as necessary to keep equipment running at its optimal rate.
- Troubleshoots to determine necessary repairs.
- Proving mechanical support to manufacturing operations to locate and diagnose trouble in mechanical systems or equipment.
- Installing, assembling, dismantling machinery, conveyor systems, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
- Correcting machinery and equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
- Assist with electrical and plumbing maintenance.
- Inspect buildings and other structures to detect malfunctions and repair needs.
- May perform general repairs that don’t require a specialized technician, such as repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Assist with the upkeep of the facilities.
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Compliance and monitoring of occupational safety and environmental regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Applicant must be a journeyman or have the qualifications to apply for a UAW journeyman card.
- Forklift, Skid Steer, Aerial Work Platform, Overhead and Mobile Crane experience is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Understand how a machine functions to assemble and disassemble it properly.
- Ability to use instruction books that detail the assembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and torque wrenches.
- Knowledge of on-the-job safety requirements for Electrical Safety, Lock Out Tag Out, Back and Ergonomics Safety, Fall Protection in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred.
- Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.
- Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to compile information and make decisions
- High level of commitment as well as a responsible, independent, and team-oriented way of working.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
