Promote safe work practices through daily inspections, job observations, and coaching.
Participate in accident investigations and inspections with relevant regulatory authorities.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal company standards.
Verify that all personnel use required personal protective equipment and follow established safety protocols.
Provide direction and guidance to maintenance personnel.
Serve as acting supervisor on any shift as needed.
Support positive employee relations by addressing personnel concerns, understanding labor agreements, and managing initial grievance processes.
Foster teamwork, communication, and alignment with organizational goals.
Planning & SchedulingPlan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work orders to support operational requirements.
Develop detailed job plans, including labor, parts, tools, and equipment needed.
Coordinate contractor activities and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
Collaborate closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime and improve planning effectiveness.
Preventive & Predictive MaintenanceMaintain and update preventive maintenance (PM) and inspection forms for stationary and mobile equipment.
Analyze recurring maintenance issues to identify opportunities for improved repair methods.
Support long-term planning for major equipment overhauls, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Inventory, Parts & RecordkeepingEnsure parts and materials are available for scheduled maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance history, and documentation.
Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities related to labor, parts, and supplies.
Technical ExpertiseRead and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
Use diagnostic equipment to support troubleshooting and repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system issues.
Apply knowledge of sensors, PLC logic, and industrial control systems.
Other DutiesParticipate in special maintenance projects, equipment overhauls, and shutdown planning.
Conduct inspections in all work areas to ensure quality of maintenance activities.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant maintenance/supervisory experience.
At least 5 years of experience with heavy equipment, mechanical, or electrical maintenance in industrial environments.
Experience with hydraulics, welding, diesel repair, rigging, electrical systems, and plumbing.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical control systems.
PLC experience preferred; familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with computer applications including Word, Excel, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Flexibility to work any assigned shift.
Physical RequirementsAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, harness, and electrical PPE).
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching around equipment.
Capability to access all areas where maintenance work is required, including confined or elevated spaces.
