Kautex is a global automotive supplier with over 30 plants in 13 countries. We design and manufacture solutions for new mobility, including plastic fuel systems, battery enclosures for hybrid and electric vehicles, and autonomous cleaning systems.
Responsibilities- Inspect, test and troubleshoot plant equipment; perform continuous preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery.
- Possess a full understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics and require little to no supervision.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using electrical prints, wiring diagrams, schematics and control panel layouts to identify root causes and restore equipment operation.
- Safely conduct all work activities and ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE procedures are properly followed before maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs or equipment interventions.
- Troubleshoot PLC‑controlled equipment using Siemens PLC hardware, software diagnostics, input/output status, fault codes and ladder logic to support safe and efficient machine recovery.
- Support continuous improvement activities on assembly lines by identifying equipment, process and workmanship opportunities that improve safety, quality, uptime and efficiency.
- Perform repairs, installations, adjustments and modifications with a proper workmanship mindset, ensuring work is completed cleanly, correctly, safely and to established plant standards.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, quality and maintenance teams to implement assembly line improvements, reduce recurring downtime and support standardized work practices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work the 3rd shift:
Monday – Friday, 10 pm – 6 am. - Three (3) years of experience as a maintenance technician or an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution majoring in a related field.
- Technical training as evidenced by certificates, technical degrees or a skilled trades Journeyman’s card preferred.
- Ability to use all types of precision measuring tools and meters.
- Pass a mechanical aptitude and practical test.
- Occasionally lift 50 pounds and frequently carry up to 30 pounds.
- Maneuver in, around, under and about factory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
- Majority of work time spent standing, walking, lifting and bending.
- Work within an automotive manufacturing environment, potentially exposed to heat, cold, wet conditions and fumes/chemicals.
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime.
- Ability to safely operate and/or use manlifts, scissor lifts and forklifts as required to perform maintenance and equipment support activities.
