APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Detroit, MI looking to add an Electrical Maintenance Technician to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment and automated production machines to keep operations running safely and efficiently. What your day will look like:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on production machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V.
- Troubleshoot automated equipment, PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, motors, drives, and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to restore production operations.
- Inspect machinery to identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety policies and electrical codes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs.
What we are looking for:
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and production equipment.
- Working knowledge of 24V–480V electrical systems.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read electrical prints and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Knowledge of VFDs, servo motors, robotics, and industrial automation.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Electrical certification or technical training is a plus.
