As a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trucks and equipment, helping keep our customers' fleets safe, reliable, and on the road. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to grow with a company that values its employees. What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines
- Repair transmissions, clutches, and drive lines
- Troubleshoot electrical and multiplex systems
- Repair air brake, steering, and suspension systems
- Diagnose and repair DPF, DEF, SCR, DOC, and EGR systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
- Repair wheel ends, hubs, bearings, seals, and brakes
- Use OEM diagnostic software and scan tools
- Work safely while maintaining a clean work area
- Communicate with Service Advisors regarding repair recommendations
What We're Looking For
- Heavy-duty diesel repair experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working on commercial trucks
- Familiarity with air brake and suspension systems
- Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools
- Valid driver's license
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Bonus Qualifications
- ASE Certifications
- State of Michigan Certifications
- CDL (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, International, Volvo, or Mack engines
- Allison or Eaton transmission experience
- DOT Inspection Certification
- Welding or fabrication experience
