Brain Works Search is partnered with a leading automotive manufacturer outside of Detroit seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join its team. This is a hands‑on, plant‑floor‑focused role supporting controls and automation within a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment
- Utilize ladder logic to diagnose controls‑related issues
- Determine whether equipment issues are related to the physical machine or software/controls
- Support robotics and automated manufacturing cells
- Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to troubleshoot equipment downtime
- Provide hands‑on controls support on the manufacturing floor
- 3–7+ years of controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance experience preferred
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and ladder‑logic experience
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley and/or Siemens controls preferred
- Die‑casting experience strongly preferred; injection molding or extrusion environments will also be considered
- Base salary: $80,000–$110,000, with flexibility based on experience
